Newborns belong in your arms.  That's why my approach to newborns is baby-led, in-home, and totally relaxed.

my philosophy for newborns

There's nothing more precious than the first days at home with your new baby.

Whether you just brought home your first or your fifth, every baby deserves to be warm and safe in his or her parents arms.

I'll capture those sweet moments in a way that honors the sacred bond between parent, child, and family.

If you're like most families I work with, you want beautiful images and a calm, present experience.

Around here photos aren't about perfection—they're about preserving the love that holds you together.  I'll guide you with gentleness and clarity, so you don't have to worry about what to do or how to show up.

My style

No Pinterest perfection required.

A newborn session at home doesn't require a space that looks like Joanna Gaines herself curated it.  It means we'll find where the best light is (usually in a nursery or master bedroom) and stay put.  The focus isn't on your home; it's on ten tiny fingers and toes, that newborn scrunch, and the love among your family.  If we need more light, I'll come prepared and ready to give you the clean, colorful, and bright images you love.

EXPERIENCE

Relaxed, baby-led, and slow.

When you've just had a baby, comfort is key. Lifestyle newborn sessions allow you to stay in the comfort of your home and slow down to enjoy your newest little one. I'll gently guide you with some prompts, but mostly I'll photograph you and your family snuggling and just being together. I believe in allowing baby to just be perfect as he or she is...no unnatural posing or uncomfortable outfits needed. Just you, your baby, and your loved ones is all you need.

We might be right for each other if...

You believe love is more important than "perfect" (what does that even mean anyways?).  You want photos that show who you family is, not just how you look.  You value honest connection, calm guidance, and a photographer who sees *you*—not just the poses.  If that sounds like you...we'll get along beautifully.

Kathryn has photographed my family for years. She has a knack for finding the best lighting, the perfect poses, and beautiful backgrounds to capture your memories in the most stunning way. You will not find a better photographer. Kathryn is simply the best!

Once your booking is confirmed, expect to get a questionnaire that helps me plan your session.  I'll also send over a prep guide that covers it all—from choosing outfits to getting everyone on board.

When I arrive, I'll spend a few minutes looking for the right light for your session.  We'll start with some simple, all-together poses before focusing on your baby in your arms.

Expect to see sneak peeks on social media within 48 hours (unless you prefer email!).  Your full gallery will be delivered within 2-3 weeks depending on the season.

When should I book my lifestyle newborn session?

Many parents check off booking their newborn session while they are in their second trimester...more energy and clear headspace!  When you inquire, I'll add your due date as your session to reserve your spot.  Then, I'll reach out 1-2 weeks before your due date to reserve a time.  Or, if you prefer, you can reach out once baby has arrived.

Typically, sessions are completed in the first two weeks of your baby's arrival, but I have done these sessions up to 8 weeks old.  There's never a "bad time" to capture your sweet baby's first moments!

I believe family photos aren’t about looking perfect—they’re about remembering what matters.  The way your child reaches for your hand.  The way your laugh lines deepen when you look at them.  These moments are sacred.  And they’re worth preserving.

Photos that stand the test of time AND don't feel forced or stiff.

An experience that is a memory itself AND portraits that you're proud to share.

A photographer who's *been there* AND a professional who knows how to find the right light at the right time.

BECAUSE YOU deserve it all:
