Family Photo Locations Near Middleboro, MA
One of my favorite memories as a kid was Sunday mornings with my dad. We’d always go and find a new playground to explore, our favorites always being the ones with big trees that offered some shade from the sun. Now as a mom with 5 kids myself, I find myself always looking for places to take them. On these adventures, I’ve found some locations that are absolutely PERFECT for family photos! (And yes, I try to take their pictures there…and no, they never cooperate!)
Oliver Mills, Middleboro, MA
If you’ve had family photos done…ever…and you live in Middleboro, this location has probably been suggested to you, and for good reason! The stone walls are a gorgeous backdrop for family photos and offer enough shade to get some good light.
I find this location to be best for smaller families because space around the structures is quite limited. However, there are so many varieties of images you can get here because of the bridges, stone walls, trees, and the herring run itself!

Pratt Farm, Middleboro, MA
Pratt Farm takes a little more creativity since it lacks architectural structures for images, but the light can be gorgeous here during golden hour! Parking is pretty easy for this location, which makes it really ideal for families of young kids who don’t want to walk too far to get a good spot for pictures.

The Farm at Raven Brook, Halifax, MA
This should be listed first, because it’s probably my favorite location! The Farm at Raven Brook is a family owned Christmas tree farm that not only sells Christmas trees and goodies, but offers events and food trucks during the Christmas season. The wonderful family who owns the farm is beyond generous and are such a great part of the community!
During the spring time, however, my favorite feature of this location is the gorgeous willow tree right by the pond. This tree is what my photographer dreams are made of, and sessions here turn out beautiful! This location does have a nominal rental fee for sessions, but is worth every penny!

Betty’s Neck, Lakeville, MA
This place is a bit of a hidden gem. While the entrance can be easy to miss, it’s definitely worth checking out if you’re going for the family in a field vibe during the fall season! Betty’s Neck is expansive, there are trails and a barn, and it is perfect for a family session where you won’t run into a ton of people taking photos as well!

Bay Farm, Duxbury, MA
This one might seem like a bit of a hike for some parts of Middleboro, but if you’re in the East Side and close to 44, it’s only about 20 minutes away! I love Bay Farm for similar reasons to Betty’s Neck. It offers expansive land and parking, and is absolutely beautiful. This is a popular spot for dog-walking, so if you’re bringing your pup to your session, be prepared for other dogs to walk by!
In 2025, this became EASILY my most popular family photo location. Seniors loved this location as well! When you book, be sure to choose a time as close to an hour before sunset for THE most beautiful light!

Photo Locations on the South Shore
I travel up to an hour from Middleboro, as well as most of Cape Cod for locations. I love finding new spots, but there is something so sweet about being in a familiar location. I think of being in a familiar spot as if I had my own studio: I know the light, I know the best time of day, and I know what to expect during your session. If you’re looking for a family photo session near Boston, Cape Cod, or the South Shore, I’d love to chat about locations that work for you and your family! Be sure to check out my full family portfolio and reach out if you see a location that you love!
